This work was published in the “Konjaku Nihon Kaiga Zukan”.

I painted this work in memory of the European custom of giving 12 roses to a loved one as a token of love. As I was looking at it, I heard a voice from the flowers saying, “Paint it now,” so I hurriedly prepared paints and painted it, although I had plans to go out.
