This works were selected for the “OASIS Exhibition” (Abeno Harukas) and “Heisenten Exhibition” (The National Art Center, Tokyo).

We were told that the wind was so strong the year that there might be no boats going out to see the first sunrise of the year. Not knowing what would happen, I walked along the pre-dawn road to the boarding area, but the boat did leave and I was able to see the beautiful sunrise. This work describes such a dawn-like experience and excitement of my own.

I spent many months looking at the full moon rising from the same ocean that I painted in my work “The Sun”. These two are a pair of works depicting beautiful and divine impressions of the moon and light.
